The 8th grade East Broncos traveled to Grapevine to take on the Ponies in the final regular season game of the year. The Broncos got the ball on offense to start the game and drove down the field with ease, capped off with a 4 yard rushing touchdown by Brody Mitchell. The defense came up big all night with interceptions by Sid Kanaparthi and Eddie Mackinnon. The Broncos pulled away from the Ponies with a multitude of touchdowns led by Sid Kanaparthi’s rushing touchdown, Carson Hodge’s 35 yard receiving touchdown, and James Naughton's 40 yard receiving touchdown. The A team improved to 6-0 on the year with a 36-6 win, led by player of the game Carson Hodge.

The B team needed a win last night in order to wrap up their undefeated championship season. Brady Stoneman got things started with a 2 yard rushing touchdown to give the Broncos an early lead over the Ponies. East was only up 8-6 at half but in the second half they turned it up another level. Brady Stoneman added a 40 yard rushing touchdown, Arjun Surroy had a 5 yard touchdown, and Jason Castro had an interception returned for a touchdown. Led by players of the game James Edwards and Arjun Surroy, the B team was able to pull off a commanding 29-6 victory to cap off their undefeated season. This group of B team athletes accomplished an amazing feat and are back-to-back zone champions!

The A team East Broncos will play in the district championship game next week Tuesday at 5 pm at Coppell high school, please come out and support as your Broncos look to complete an undefeated championship season!
